Keane - Bad Dream

Keane, one my all time favorite bands. Very well known, but I had to post them.

Another /with a wonderful video. Originally the music video for Crystal Ball but adjusted for the US release of "Nothing in my Way."

The Brits.

Very intriguing.

Your Views Change like the Weather.

Yo! it's been a while!

Okay so with school and everything it's been tough on me to get anything posted on here, but i'll make up for it with some gnarley tracks.

I know you all probably know this song, but I have to say I don't care. It's so fucking good. I vibe to this everytime I switch class.
Download here

I love the Beach Boys bunches, and this wicked little remix to "Wouldn't It Be Nice" got me groovin, yo.

you can't take it with you

As Tall As Lions
This is their 3rd full length album and the songs I've heard already are superb.
I've been spinning a couple of their tracks in my car lately.
You can stream the whole album on their Myspace.

download the album here.

Also catch them live on November 6th at the Tabernacle when they play with Mute Math.

Volcano Choir.

Okay, so Volcano Choir, Bon Iver's side project just released their first single off their upcoming album set to be released September 22nd.

The song is entitled "Island, IS"
It's wonderful.

You can download and listen to it here.

a tasty treat.

the XX.
From London and apparently very young.
Don't know too much about them, but this song, "Crystalised" is superb.

Lykke Li - Little Bit

I really like her voice, especially the part when she falsettos. Simple song, nonetheless awesome.

Also Drako Malfoy did a remix of this song with Lykke Li, which is pretty good too.

Maps and Atlases

This is mathy, technical music. But rather than going all Yngwie Malmsteen, Maps and Atlases take virtuistic guitar playing and smack the egotistical pointlessness out. Their unique tapping riffs can sound blindingly fast or confusingly complex, but they mesh into an overall playful, enjoyable sound.

"If my entire life culminated in something which was a thousandth as brilliant as this, I would be very very happy. I keep coming back to this and thinking "it can't be that good" but it properly is. Wow! "

Beirut is an American band which began as a solo act by Zachary Condon and later evolved into a group led by Condon. Their music combines elements of Eastern European and folk with western pop.

Shout Out Louds

Great Indie band straight outta Stockholm, Sweden. Their second album "Our Ill Wills" is truly a masterpiece.

White Lies

White Lies are an English alternative rock band from Ealing in West London. Formerly known as Fear of Flying.

standing on a shore, walking on a dream

This electronic music duo is one of the best things to come out of Australia in recent times.
They're illustrious music videos are unlike any other.
You don't want to miss them, so I'll let the music speak for itself.

and my favorite:

"we can laugh about it now"

"You used to do a little, but a little won't fly
Right before you hit your prime
That's when we fell in love, but not the first time"

I've fallen in love with the Silversun Pickups again.
This song contains copious amounts of energy.
One of the only bands with shoegazing and dream pop characteristics to get this 'mainstream'.

I think Matt has had enough of this song though haha.

Their last album was great, their new album is great.
This is my favorite track from Swoon.

As the video (containing an acoustic rendition) mentions, they've been compared to the Pixies, the Smashing Pumpkins, and Fleetwood Mac.

p.s. - She's a cutie.

sweet disposition
never too soon
oh reckless abandon
like no one's
watching you

a moment, a love
a dream aloud
a kiss, a cry

our rights, our wrongs

This song has been the soundtrack to my summer.

song i can't get over.
it's "Blood" by The Middle East.

australian band.
the runny sound of the vocals is haunting.
at 3 1/2 minutes in, i get chills everytime. reminiscent of Arcade Fire's ensemble of bursting cries, but more child-like.
i'd say this song is like is Fleet Foxes and Arcade Fire came together.
brilliant.
